Since 1987 the Brooklyn Academy of Music’s annual Next Wave Festival has been New York City's most exciting visual and performing arts exhibition.
For this branding project I illustrated icons to represent the different art forms found at the festival, including dance, theater, and visual arts. Inspired by the festival, which comprises a variety of art forms, I collaged a visual “festival” from the icons I created.
Inside the brochure, I extracted icons from the cover collage and inserted them into the layouts of the spreads. The illustrations are paired to match the content of each spread.
A combination of illustration, animation, and design, this branding project is meant to celebrate the variety of art forms present in the festival, while establishing a singular visual identity.
